In 1998 the Australian Government changed the Copyright Laws.

Under the new law, in the absence of an agreement to the contrary between client and photographer, the copyright of a commissioned photograph is owned by the photographer.

A detailed explanation is available from the Australian Copyright Council.

Normally, an agreement is signed with Kim Cottrell that sets out the licensing, usage and copyright issues that relate to each assignment before any photography is undertaken.

Kim is happy to discuss any questions you might have regarding image copyright and usage rates.
